The key elements of the Tesco uniform policy are as follows:

  • All colleagues must wear a name badge at all times. This helps customers and colleagues to identify each other.
  • Colleagues must wear smart casual clothing. This includes items such as trousers, skirts, shirts, blouses, and shoes. Jeans, trainers, and T-shirts are generally not acceptable.
  • Colleagues must wear their Tesco uniform when working in customer-facing roles. This includes roles such as checkout operators, shelf-stackers, and customer service advisors.
  • Colleagues who work in non-customer-facing roles may be able to wear more casual clothing, but they must still dress in a neat and presentable manner.
